About Dave

Dave Weinbaum began writing one liners to supplement a newsletter he was sending
out to the eight restaurants he owns in central Missouri.
On a whim, he sent 52 original quotes and jokes to the National Enquirer. Surprisingly,
they published and paid for one. Since then, Dave has appeared more than 100 times in
the Enquirer. For a period of 18 months he was the Enquirer’s most often published non-
staff writer.
Soon after, Dave’s quotes were published in 14 Reader’s Digest’s "Quotable Quotes," 10
Forbe’s "Thoughts on the Business of Life," and about 60 "Bits & Pieces." A quick scan of
Amazon.com reveals at least a dozen books that contain a quote or two from the self-
professed One-Line Philosopher.
Weinbaum has written over 38,000 original quotes and jokes. Many have been used by
celebrities, coaches, news media, and individuals in their daily lives.
Under the mantle of The One-Line Philosopher, Dave has written a Top Ten Thoughts of
the Week column for various Missouri newspapers for the last nine years. Eight years
ago, he translated that popular column into a "quote-a-day" calendar.
The Internet revolution has spread Weinbaum’s works across the globe. His quotes are
on nearly 40,000 websites in 20-plus languages and are spreading like the proverbial
wildfire.
Dave started writing political Op-eds for local papers and was picked up in February of
2005 by the prestigious Jewish World Review (www.jewishworldreview.com.) He’s
published on equal billing with Ann Coulter, Cal Fox, George Will, Nat Hentoff, Bill O’
Reilly, and many other legends in the political commentary profession.
When his schedule permits, Dave enjoys performing stand-up comedy at various clubs
in Missouri and Illinois.
In other words, Weinbaum is having the Mother of all mid-life crises.
Weinbaum resides in Mid Missouri with his wife Joni and their children plus two dogs
and two cats. He likes to fish and is an avid mediocre golfer.
