“You can put lipstick on a pig-it’s still a pig.” President Barack Obama
The audacity of those Republicans, reading from the actual passed Senate and House Obamacare
Bills! Don’t they understand Hope and Change?! Have they no soul -- no mercy?
The Obama/Dem’s ploy during today’s HC summit of saying Repubs agree with almost all of the
solely Dem written and Dem passed HC bill(s), (4,500 pages worth) was classic. Seems some on
the right expressed that a few sentences in the bills had correct punctuation and the President’s
blue tie matched his shirt and shoes. Dems jumped on that like white on rice. Suddenly non-
partisan, Dear Leader indicated he will shove this piece of legislative tyranny down America ’s
throat via reconciliation, faking the civility of Republicans as agreement.
Thus only 51 Progressives will be needed VS the 60 vote majority to pass this monstrous takeover
of 1/6th of the American economy. Of course, back in 2005, Hillary, Biden and Dear Leader railed
against reconciliation when Repubs wanted an up and down vote on federal judges. All Obama has
to do now is bully enough Dem Senators and lefty Reps to hold their nose, vote for Obamacare,
then hit the want ads. Those voting for this USA killer who are up for election will be fired by the
American People.
If today’s meeting works, as described above, how far-fetched is it to take on his next legislative
imperative? The Man-Made Global Warming scam-based Crap and Tax could be the trigger for the
next summit because of these events:
- Copenhagen blizzard during the Weather consortium.
- The freezing out of most of the recent Global Warming meets and greets all over the world.
- The blizzards following ALGORE like dirt on Pigpen.
- E-mails proving the climate “science” liars threw out raw data and fibbed about the rest.
- A former MM Global warming “scientist” now saying we haven’t warmed since 1995—
and we may be in a cooling trend.
- The suicide of one of the scamming “scientists” and the admitted hari kari thoughts of
another.
- The waving off the ocean rising BS.
- Jetsetter Robert F. Kennedy’s prediction that lack of snow would kill the sled business
around the Beltway.
Even the “Won,” as he reminded Senator McCain today, couldn’t blame Rush or the Republicans
for the above circumstances.
None of these events prove or disprove MM Global Warming but the con men on the left would
have us believe an ant passing gas in Australia is a sure sign of Global Warming.
G-d just responded in a language libs would understand.
Soooo, what’s a Progressive Socialist Messiah to do?
You got it! He’ll demand a summit with The One, The Only, The Almighty -- G-D.
It’ll be the summit of ALL summits. “THE ONE VS THE WON!” Pay-per-View alone might cut
the deficit in half.
“G-d is a comedian playing to an audience too afraid to laugh.” Voltaire
Are we in biblical times? I find the coincidental, collateral evidence fascinatingly alarming. What we’
re seeing could be a parting-of-the-sea coldest global winter in recorded history. G-d has made the
Pharaohs of Global warming let His People Go—ALL of His people.
So Dear Leader will call the Almighty in for a one-on-one. He’ll question G-d’s impropriety in
ruining his scam to break evil America and make the USA redistribute whatever wealth is still there
to third world despots.
I, for one, will be mesmerized by the false messiah as he scolds the Almighty about HIS
SHORTCOMINGS.
Then all Hell will break loose.
Let the fire and brimstone begin!
You know who I’m bettin’ on!
Peace Sister
I hope the Republicans were smart enough to consider all the possible Dem. strategies and traps before they
walked into that summit. Early on in the proceedings, the people in my chat were agreeing that the R's
should just get up and walk out.
But...it's all on tape. Those who fell into a sound sleep during the President's opening remarks can go back
and see what really happened.
What's the source on the suicide and suicidal thoughts? I hadn't heard that.
Dave Weinbaum replies:
There was a lot of thought and posturing on both sides. Repubs knew they were walking into a dishonest
trap, yet they fought it off with honesty and forthrightness. Obama lost—big time. The Repubs won. More
important the American people got to see the Repubs as the party of “Know,” not no.
Cathleen Meyer
David,
The real problem with the HC Summit was the presence of 'The One'............
Moderating from on High, he twisted, triangulated, controlled, and directed.
By shutting off those whose questions which made him uncomfortable, he demonstrated an arrogant attitude
of monarchal pose.
In summation he subtly declared, "I don't care what you want, I will do what I want." Arrogant.
I had a nun in school who did the same thing. In pursuit of fairness, she opened the discussion with 'hearing
all'; the end result was inevitable. You could count on it.
Dave Weinbaum replies:
Cathleen,
Thanks for your input. You summed it up very well.
Billy Back

I haven't heard this one, Gene. I was telling my wife the other day that it sure seems that God has a sense
of humor with the big snowfall in Washington .
Dave Weinbaum replies:
Billy,
Who’d Gene? Don’t know if this was meant for me but just in case, thanks.
Billy Back
Sorry, Dave. I've been reading Dave Barry and got yours and Weingarten's names mixed. All you
comedians look alike to me. :)
Dave Weinbaum replies:
That does it Billy. I’m reporting you to the owner of the JWR AND no fruit cup before dinner—two nights!

'We are using the rules of the Senate here. Reconciliation is a rule of the Senate. All this rule of the Senate
does is allow a majority of the Senate to take a position and pass a piece of legislation. Now, is there
something wrong with majority rules? I don't think so.'
Sen. Judd Gregg (R), New Hampshire, August 2005
Republican reconciliation: 2001 Bush tax cuts, 2003 Bush tax cuts (yeah I know, hindsight...)
Wanna say it's not used to change the health care system?
1986: COBRA - The Consolidated Omnibus Budget RECONCILIATION Act (which allows people to
keep their health insurance for a while after they've been laid off)
1997: S-CHIP - State Children's Health Insurance Program
NPR reported: '...over the past three decades, the number of major health financing measures that were NOT
passed via budget reconciliation can be counted on one hand.'
Since 1980 the Senate has used reconciliation 22 times. Of those 22 times, Republicans used it 16 times.
(United States Congressional records, 1980-2010)
'Reconciliation is a process I hope we can engage in every year.'
Rep. Eric Cantor (R), 2005

Often wrong, always certain. I can count on Dave. Who is this G_D? GAD? GED? GID? GUD? GYD?
Dave Weinbaum replies:
http://www.daveweinbaum.com/index.html
It's never been used for anything like this--ever. We're talking about 1/6th of the economy.
On my website click on the Flip-floppin' away video. You'll see Hillary, Biden and Obama RAILING
against using reconciliation in 2005.
Let's see if you have enough senators willing to give up their jobs for this economy wrecking jerk.
BTW., Repubs came off GREAT in yesterday's meeting. They knew those HC bills backwards and
forwards. All Dear Leader could do was take up more time, insult people and claim it was allowed because
HE WAS THE PRESIDENT! He's an arrogant oaf who doesn't know what's in the bill he's trying to shove
down America's throat.
Do some homework Prof. Figure it out yourself.
rollarn
'Thus only 51 Progressives will be needed VS the 60 vote majority to pass...'
Dave Weinbaum
It appears that Dave is trying to say here that a group of 51 Senators can override a 60 vote majority, which
is misleading and wrong. In fact, if they choose reconciliation, they will be following a rule of the Senate
which allows a simple majority vote of 51 VS 49 Senators to pass legislation. Sen. Judd Gregg actually
explained it very well when reconciliation was in Republicans' favor back in 2005.
This is a continuing game of politics at the expense of the American people. It about seeing who can save
their political necks while American citizens are feeling the noose tighten around theirs. For the members of
Congress who more interested in moving the country forward than waging a perpetual campaign, the
Republicans and Democrats ARE much closer to agreement than we think.
Dave wants to downgrade agreement between the 2 sides to punctuation and color coordination. In actuality,
there are several points on which there is widespread agreement:
1. Rising medical costs are overtaking the economy. Some states saw a 37% increase this year! We need to
bring down costs. (And the way this is done in the bill was a Republican idea - Olympia Snowe, (R), Maine)
2. Individuals should not be denied care based on preexisting conditions. And insurance companies should
not drop coverage when a person becomes sick.
3. Insurance coverage should be expanded to include ALL Americans, not just the ones lucky enough,
wealthy enough, or healthy enough to qualify.
These are the problems that this bill seeks to fix. But because they were put forth by a Democratic majority
under a Democratic president, the Republicans have become the party of NO. Stall, block, yell, mislead, cry
foul. Too many pages, too few pages, not enough time to read the bill, now too much time has passed so
let's just scrap the whole thing. They will do whatever it takes to deny what they see as a Democratic win,
even if it means an American loss.

OP For a person who claims to be a highly educated, tolerant man, your post suggests either ignorance or
bigotry on your part.
OldProf
I got it! Gosh-Darn! Nope. Maybe Great-Democrat. Nope. Couldn't be God. That wouldn't be hyphenated
as G-D. I would expect Him to be spelled as God, or Jehovah, or Yahweh, or The Almighty. Just can't figure
out why G-D would be used.
Good to get the commercial right up front. I guess the joke about having a great face for radio would be
inappropriate here.
oscar
Well I guess that it is bigotry.

Dave Weinbaum replies:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/02/26/cnn-poll-majority-says-government-a-threat-to-citizens-

The above CNN poll says Americans are scared their rights are being taken over by big government. Also,
Polls average about 61 to 37 AGAINST Obamacare, and have gone down every time Obama (who STILL)
doesn't know what's in the bill(s) speaks about it. Scott Brown just got elected in the most liberal state in
the union by running against Obamacare...and it wasn't even close.
During the summit, Republicans showed they are the party of 'know,' not no. Obama showed himself and
the Dems to be the party of 'WON' and I can interrupt and talk longer because, 'IAM the PRESIDENT.'
You want an up or down vote?
Let's take it to the people...right now.

Just for the sake of accuracy 12+% more Americans hate Obamacare than like it and these were taken before
the 'summit.'

Six of thirteen comments are from the author. Supplemental information for the original article, I reckon.
Since Health Reform was picked to be 'Obama's Waterloo', why are you surprised that something will be
passed called Health Reform, no matter the content. It is good to be the King.

Let us stipulate that if you and dave Weinbaum were in the same voting district you would cancel each
other. This series where you are just mocking him for what is obvious ("G-D" = "God") neither wins
friends nor influences people. It's as if Ann Coulter were to post on Daily Kos. Pointless and annoying.
And, unlike the series you did on climate change that included links, there's no meat in this one. Not your
best work here.
Dave, your picture of Obama and God ought to have Obama extending a different finger.
Dave Weinbaum replies:
LOL Were you quoting the old prof or ARE you the old prof, Pam?
Pam Siegfried
Only quoting. I rather suspect he would be palin’ at Palin whereas I may be voting for her in 2012.

Actually it’s used in respect and awe of the Devine one. However, you may not be too far off in the future.
Thanks for writing.

I'm not against HC reform. I'm against tyranny.
Dave Weinbaum
So that sums it up and illustrates exactly why our partisan government is deadlocked. If you feel that the
administration in power is tyrannical, is there any hope of cooperation or compromise? Unless the majority
yields to the minority, will anything be accomplished? Our president has been labeled socialist and
communist, pictures have been altered to show him as a witch doctor and a nazi, and these have been tacitly
approved by elected members of Congress. How can they ever again work productively with the current
administration?
The right wing likes to cling to polls which indicate widespread disagreement with the Democratic plans and
mistrust of government. Americans have always distrusted government, our country was founded on it! But
now we have talking heads who have declared they want the president to fail, and they fill the airways,
newspapers, and internet with lies. Special interest groups spend massive amounts of money to start a 'grass
roots' teabagger movement and tell the people that our president is on the side of terrorists, is selling
America out, and may not even be an American citizen. They coin the phrase 'obamacare', interject
conspiracy theories and death panels and play on fears of the unknown. Are you really surprised when
people object to 'big government' that is pushing a 'socialist agenda' with a 'takeover of healthcare' by
'shoving obamacare' down their throats?
Many of these dissatisfied Americans object to 'big industry' that pushes 'capitalist monopoly' since they
long ago 'took over healthcare' and now are allowed to 'dictate our doctors and medical treatments' and 'shove
financial devastation' down our throats.
So, yes, people feel their rights are threatened. Millions of people in America suffer and die because they
can't get medical treatment. Seniors are forced to choose between eating or taking their medication because
they have entered the Medicare doughnut hole. Children born with birth defects are denied a normal life
because of their pre-existing condition. And individuals, along with our nation, are marching toward financial
ruin by upwards of 37% annual increases in healthcare costs.
But Republicans don't think these things are rights. Healthcare is not a right, it's a privilege of the wealthy
and the healthy. On the other hand, protection of capitalism is more important than protection of
individuals. The Republicans' answer to fixing this? Let insurance companies retain all of their power in the
name of capitalism, keep telling the American people their rights and being protected, and hand each and
every person a tube of KY Jelly.
Republicans have been given every opportunity to be a part of this legislation. A bill passed in the House, a
bill passed in the Senate with 1 Republican supporter. Now some fixes have been made to make it more
bipartisan, but even though many Republicans agree with much of what is in the bill, it will likely have to be
passed by simple majority rather than super-majority. Why?
Bottom line: Republicans won't help. They don't want Democrats to win. They want Obama to fail, even if
it means America loses too.
OldProf
What rollarn said seems good to me. Are tater tots good for you? Do we want a Waterloo for President
Obama? I guess letting old people die prematurely is G-D's will (Who?). The younger survivers can then
work for minimum wage and buy lots of Sham-Wows.
Automation and off shore manufacturing have killed the American job market. It won't come back, even as
'Green' technology. The hardware will be manufactured in low wage countries. Maybe we can get the
installation and maintenance contracts.
Paperpuncher
rollarn, 'and they fill the airways, newspapers, and internet with lies.'
What 'lies'???? Point out the particular 'lies' of which you are referring. I'll bet you either: #1. CAN'T
because you are just quoting all the propaganda from other stupid liberal sheep who were told that and
haven't the brains to investigate, OR #2. WON'T because you just want to perpetuate your propaganda and
can't stand to hear or know the truth we speak of, because you're embarrassed about how your present
administration has failed us in so many ways and lied to you and the American people.
If you are going to accuse us of lying, at least have the nuggets to lay them out one by one and show us what
you believe to be the truth for each one you list. And I'm not talking about your opinion on each one, but
rather, we want you to use actual valid, documented, known facts (not hearsay) proving your accusations.

Here's my column back in August of '09 taken from the analysis of the House Bill by Law School Dean
Matt Stover. The questions I posed were adopted by a PA website and were actually asked of Arlen
Spector and at futre Town Halls throughout the country. Without going thru all of your points that were
copied and pasted, RN. I see many that you claim are false that are true and actually in the House Bill.
Why not link when you can and save space?

If course, unions and corporations are not people. Even before I became a doctor, I could tell the difference
between an individual and a group. The courts have made both a person, but that is a legal matter, and not a
biological or real matter. A person has a brain and some think a person has a soul, but bureaucracies,
including government, corporations have neither a brain nor a soul. However, both have rules. It's not that
the people in those organizations don't have brains and souls, it's just that they are not allowed to use them

I wonder if the Lord knows He’s dealing with the Chosen One.

'Without going thru all of your points that were copied and pasted, RN. I see many that you claim are false
that are true and actually in the House Bill.', says Dave.
Says I: Pick one, prove it. And remember PP's standards:
'I'm not talking about your opinion on each one, but rather, we want you to use actual valid, documented,
known facts (not hearsay) proving (your point).'
And one more thing, please refer to the current proposed legislation. The proposals that have passed in the
house and the senate and now has proposed fixes to go back through the house.

Dave Weinbaum replies:
I disputed whatever points you had with the actual House bill, page and section where applicable. Did you
read it?
The House bill IS the current legislation until they come out with a new one---like tomorrow.

Dave, Mr. Staver's list says it's about HR 3200. The current House bill is HR 3962, proposed on 10/29/09
and passed on 11/7/09. Since your article was published in 8/09, it cannot be about the current legislation.
But you said that you see that many of the points that I copied/pasted and claimed to be false were, in fact,
true. I just want you to pick one of these statements, one that is pointing to the current proposed
legislation, and provide some evidence that it is true. The dates these statements were made are in each link.
Dave Weinbaum replies:
I'm pretty sure that most if not all of the stuff refered to in the original bill are still in the current bill. I'll get
your points when I get a chance. Got to finish this week's column first.
Rn, why not write your own column for RDN?

Rn lacks your charm and writing finesse, Dave.
